Incident Reported in Swindon: Police Seek Man in Red Latex Lingerie
Wiltshire Police are investigating an incident of alleged indecent exposure that occurred in a public area near Shaw Ridge Leisure Park in Swindon on Friday afternoon. According to a victim’s report, the event took place at approximately 2:15 p.m. in a field area adjacent to the leisure park, a location noted to be in proximity to Shaw Ridge Primary School.
Victim’s Account and Suspect Description
The victim, a woman, reported that a male individual approached her. She provided a description of the suspect as a Black male who was wearing a balaclava and red latex lingerie. The woman stated the man ran toward her, stood staring at her face-to-face, and was observed “touching himself.” The encounter caused significant distress, and the victim screamed before the suspect fled the scene through a nearby woodland area.
Evidence and Police Response
The victim was able to capture a low-quality photograph of the individual as he left. The image reportedly shows a figure dressed in red within the trees. Following the report, Wiltshire Police deployed officers, including police dogs, to the area to search for the suspect. The force has been contacted for official comment and is actively appealing for information from the public.
Community Advisory and Investigation
Given the location’s closeness to a school and the time of day during school dismissal periods, the victim has publicly urged local residents, particularly those with children walking to and from school, to remain vigilant. This advisory highlights the community impact of such incidents and the importance of public awareness.
