Single-Vehicle Collision Occurs Outside Celebrity Chef’s Wiltshire Hotel
A single-vehicle road traffic incident took place on Friday, 6 March, outside the renowned Rudloe Arms hotel, owned by celebrity chef Marco Pierre White, in Rudloe, Wiltshire.
Incident Details and Emergency Response
Emergency services responded to the scene on Leafy Lane, just off the A4 at Box Hill, shortly after 12:00 PM. A black Hyundai Getz had left the carriageway and collided with a tree, resulting in significant damage to the vehicle’s front end.
Two fire crews, from Chippenham and Corsham, were deployed by the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service. A service spokesperson confirmed that “no one was trapped,” and the crews’ primary role was to make the scene safe and secure.
The South Western Ambulance Service dispatched a double-crewed land ambulance, an operations officer, and a rapid response vehicle. Paramedics provided treatment to the driver at the scene before transporting them to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for further assessment. The driver’s injuries are not believed to be serious. The precise cause of the collision remains under investigation and has not been released by authorities at this stage.
Location Context: The Rudloe Arms
The collision occurred directly opposite the entrance to The Rudloe Arms, a historic coaching inn and luxury hotel famously owned by chef Marco Pierre White. The venue is a well-known local landmark and culinary destination, which is why an incident on its doorstep attracts particular public interest. The hotel itself was not involved in the incident.
